Chicken
The chicken is a domestic bird raised mainly for its eggs and meat. Of variable size depending on the breed, it is generally round in shape with varied plumage that can be white, black, reddish or speckled. Chickens have a red crest on top of their head and wattles under their beak.
Behavior and reproduction
Chickens are social animals that prefer to live in groups, called “flocks”. They are omnivores and feed on seeds, insects and vegetables. Their eggs are a highly prized food source and can be of different sizes and colors, depending on the breed.
Diet
Easy to raise, they can live freely in a garden or in a chicken coop, provided they are given space and a balanced diet. Chickens are also appreciated for their curious and sometimes mischievous behavior
